Be very diligent with aftercare the whole time, and especially for the first 48 hours.

  • Wash your hands before removing the film or bandage from the tattoo!
  • Use unscented, antibacterial soap and warm water to gently wash
  • Air dry or pat - never rub!
  • Apply a thin layer healing ointment.
  • Do not expose it to the sun.

Doing this will prevent infection. Treat your tattoo like a fresh wound and set yourself up for success the first few days.

1. Days 1 - 2

Let’s talk
aftercare…

Continue applying any ointment or cream, and monitor. Call us if you have any concerns or questions.

2. Days 3 - 4

You’re finishing the first week of being tattooed - congratulations. Scabbing is typical at this time, and it is a normal part of healing.

  • Do not pick at your scabs, or wear anything that could rub against or irritate the scabs.
  • Applying a thin layer of moisturizer can promote the healing process

3. Days 3 - 4

You’re going be itchy. This is normal. If you really must, you can tap or pat the itchy spot … but whatever you do, DO NOT SCRATCH!

Tips on itching include: applying a cold compress, moisturizing, or distracting yourself as much as possible, such as possibly by booking another tattoo!

Moisturize regularly, don’t pick, and call us if you have any questions at any time during your healing process.
